3:47 pm - What's new at PhoenixFireDesigns.etsy.com!

Well, first off, after spending the ENTIRE summer on medications trying to get myself safe enough for surgery, looks like my hysterectomy will be on October 5th.

For those who've missed the updates, I'm 34 and over Memorial Day weekend, I went into the ER in massive pain, only to discover my uterus is full of tumors. Literally pounds of them. So much in fact, I was unsafe for surgery. I have over $10,000 in hospital bills and trying to raise the final $600 I need for surgery. (Of a total of $2,600 total.)

I've been on UNPAID medical leave this whole time (my last paycheck was June 3rd) so trying to pay my regular bills has been a challenge, let alone raising EXTRA money for surgery.

So here's a look at what's new in my shop. Sales help me with living expenses, medical bills and surgery costs. All the info can be found here.

Even if you can't buy something, just passing on the link in your twitter, facebook, blog, etc. is greatly appreciated!

Thank you for your support!

Hey everyone, I've started a tarot journal and I'm doing free readings because I really want to build my skills and I like helping people. If you or anybody you know might be interested, check out my profile: http://princessofcups7.livejournal.com/profile Nothing in the journal yet, but I think I might start putting a card of the day and some poetry and whatnot related to the cards up there.

2:55 pm - Handmade Rune Sets

I recently made my first set of runes as a gift for a woman's pagan swap circle. They were so well received, that I've decided to expand my site - PhoenixFire Designs - to offer them for sale. These sets are entirely handcrafted and no two sets are alike. I can easily customize them to whatever color you'd like. Each set comes with full-color symbol meanings and large pouch for storage.

This is a pearlescent white with gold set.

And here are two other sample colors, though I can do any color you'd like. (No extra charge.)

I hope anyone who's interested in runes, or who have wanted a set would consider ordering ones that are handmade rather then mass produced. Each set is made with loving care.

11:09 pm - Alt Interp for heiregulus's reading

(I couldn't post this as a comment because I got long-wind-baggy again.)

I noticed that you use the rider waite deck. So do I. It is the second deck that was gifted to my possession that has spoken to me.

I have been meaning to reply for a few days, but time; I thought I would post a few comments. I hope some of this helps. Standard disclaimer applies. (anybody) feel free to post innacuracies, sometimes my memory fails.

Read more...Collapse )

Maybe I have read too much into the cards.... Maybe I have read too much of myself into the cards.... Its hard for me to tell, which is why I don't read for poeple often (and why, when I do, I don't touch the cards; lol). Maybe I was completely off, but I hope it helps a lil.

2:12 am - Yet Another Reading

Note that this might look better on my page (if you don't use style overrides that is) since I took the time to format it and stuff.

Tarot Reading

I am using a modified Celtic Cross spread. I have always used a modified version, but the latest mod is brand new in this reading. I think I am going to stick with it.

  1. The Querant (center): This represents you in the reading. Also known as the center of the situation.
  2. The Cross: This is the primary obstacle. It represents the barrier that must be overcome, the situation that demands resolving, or the problem that needs solving.
  3. The Past (left): This represents energies that are fading from the situation. Also known as the recent past.
  4. Anchor (below): This is what holds you down. This can represent problems that you have in your character that make happiness and fulfillment a problem.
  5. Crown (above): This is what you aspire to, or what inspires you to do better. This can represent goals or ideals that make you perform or live up to a higher standard, and striving for this can assist you in your quest for happiness and fulfillment.
  6. Future (right): This represents energies or situations that are growing in thier influence on you. Also known as the near future.

Note that (3) and (6) represent situations or energies that are beyond your control. May be viewed as the effects of Fate. (4) and (5) however, are completely within your ability to change. They could be viewed as the id and superego of yourself.

  7. Questor (bottom of the staff): This is what brought you to consult the cards. This can be a representation of the problem as you see it. This is in contrast to (2) which is more likely to be the root of the problem.
  8. Internal Situation: This highlights what is going on inside you.
  9. External situation: This tells about how you interact with the world around you.
  10. Final Outcome (top of the staff): This is the result if things do not drastically change.

I have always used this spread (the order and meaning of the positions is significant) because the traditional ones I read didn't jive or produce clear readings. This order just "feels" right. This is (sometimes much) less so for the staff, but I expect to refine this as I read and interpret more. Most notable differences are the order of the draw for (3)-(6), and (8) and (9) only make sense to me when reversed. But today, in reading an entry by
heiregulus in the tarot_klub community, I saw he has his "anchor" as his tools to use in overcoming obstacles.

From this I had a flash for my anchor. It is now divided into three parts (left to right):

  1. That which Binds: This represents desires and impulses (or, by extension, situations that you allow to happen to you, or even seek out) that are self-detrimental. This is you holding yourself back.
  2. Resources: These are your innate abilities that you can draw on. This is what happens when you are "in the zone".
  3. Pitfalls: This represents tendancies that are outright dangerous and will lead to error. Watch out for these developments and vanquesh them when they pop up.

So, without much further ado... here it is...Collapse )

8:43 pm - Hiiii

Hello! I'm am new here, as I am to Tarot. I have the Rider Tarot Deck and the H.R Giger tarot deck. I hardley know how to use it, and I was hopping maybe I could have some help as to how I can develop a type of psychic power (Which I've had before from using the Ouija Board so much, but I no longer have). Right now I pick up a card, and I look up its meaning in a big thick book I have. It has definitions all catagoriezed, so lets say I asked a question about romance, there would be a section about the romantic definition of the card. Now I dunno if the book is completely accurate, or if its giving me as accurate readings as I would like. Or maybe this is how I learn? I just know that people see htings and get visions, and I see nothing when I pick up a card, except the picture gives me a little clue of what the card might look like. So I was hoping someone might be able to help me, please?

8:55 am - Queens of Swords

I was focussing in on the Queen of Swords during a reading on Sunday and had the most startling vision.

I saw a pool of blood surrounding the base of her throne. I followed streams of blood up her robes until I reached the source - the sword. In my meditation I saw her cutting open her wrist, which caused the blood-flow.

This worried me a bit - I've never seen this in this card before. A friend who reads spiritual tarot said he thinks I reacted this way purely because I'm not experienced enough to understand the message.

Any thoughts?

7:33 am - Empress

(x-posted tolearn_the_tarot).. I did a little mini-reading (one card) and asked the question "am I meant to have a relationship with so and so" (another woman). I fanned the deck out, and I pulled the Empress. What is your take on what getting the Empress means, for this type of question? I also pulled the top card off the deck and it was Queen of Cups.

Thanks for any insight. :)

12:51 am - hello all! tarot klub, please read! = )

kalsia made an xcellent suggestion a while back,
and i think we could def. use the thoughts and advice of our members to reflect on in our own divination. her suggestion was that we could all post our thoughts and ideas about each card, for a set period, beginning with 0 the fool.

i think this is a terrific idea, if you want to play along.

card you are responding to:
1) What Tarot deck you use
2) What book/s you use, if any.
3) Do you read the tarot by perception / intuition or utilize the exact meaning of the card, as written in a book?
3) What meaning does this card have for you?
4) Add any insights about this card you feel is valueable.

er whatever you may feel is important. depending on the sort of response we get with this, will determine the amount of time i'll alot to each card. you can also go ahead and suggest a time you think would be suitable. 2 weeks? a month? let me know!
